Donald Mitchell

Donald Mitchell
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Don S. Mitchell joined Chaska, Minn.-based FSI International, Inc., as chief executive officer and president in December 1999. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in March 2000, and in January 2002, became chairman of the Board.

Prior to his association with FSI, since its formation in 1998, he was president of Air Products Electronic Chemicals, Inc., located in Carlsbad, Calif., a division of Pennsylvania-based Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. From 1991 to 1998 he served as president of Schumacher, a leading global chemical equipment and services supplier to the semiconductor industry. He held various executive positions, including vice president of operations and vice president of sales and marketing.

Mitchell served on the board of directors of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), a leading global industry trade association, from 1994 to 2005 and as its 1999/2000 board chairman. He currently serves on the board of directors for Advanced Material Sciences.

Benno Sand

Benno Sand
Executive Vice President, Business Development, Investor Relations and Secretary

Benno Sand joined FSI in 1982. In 1987 he was appointed vice president of finance and has held his current position since January 2000. During his tenure at FSI, Sand has served in several executive financial management roles, including executive vice president, chief administrative officer, chief financial officer and assistant secretary. Mr. Sand also serves as a director at TestQuest, MathStar and PPT Vision Inc.

Patricia Hollister

Patricia Hollister
Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary

Patricia Hollister has served as chief financial officer since January 1998. She joined FSI in 1995 as corporate controller, a position she held until November 1999. Prior to FSI, Hollister worked at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she served over 12 years on various audit and consulting engagements, most recently as a senior manager.

John Ely

John Ely
Vice President, Global Sales and Service

John Ely was named corporate vice president of Global Sales and Service in June 2003 and previously held the position of president of FSI International's Surface Conditioning Division since August 2000. Ely joined FSI in 1985 as the Surface Conditioning Division sales/marketing/applications manager from 1985 to 1997; general manager, 1995 to 1997; product specialist/product manager, 1989 to 1995; and direct sales, 1985 to 1989. Previous to FSI, he was in sales and the western territory manager based in California for Galtek, a subsidiary of Entegris. He received an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in 1996.

Scott Becker

Scott Becker
Vice President of Marketing

Scott Becker was named corporate vice president of marketing in May 2003. Previously he held the position of vice president of product management for FSI International's Surface Conditioning Division since August 2000. Employed at FSI from 1983 to 1985 as a Process Development Engineer, he rejoined FSI in 1992 as the single wafer product manager, adding the responsibility of chief technologist in 1999. From 1985 to 1992, he held management positions in engineering and business development for Honeywell's Solid State Electronics Division. He served four years as the co-chair of the Surface Prep Sub-Technology Working Group of the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors. Dr. Becker holds several wafer-cleaning patents and has authored many papers on cleaning technologies. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 1984.

Mike Baxter

Mike Baxter
Vice President of Engineering and Operations

Mike Baxter was named vice president of engineering and operations in June 2003. He joined FSI International in 1996 as design engineering manager for batch products, then was appointed director of platform engineering in 2000 and vice president of engineering in 2002. Prior to FSI, Baxter worked for the Solvay Group doing polymer product and process development in Brussels, Belgium and Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Baxter received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1991, and has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

John Walker

John Walker
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives

John Walker was named vice president of strategic initiatives in September 2004, to lead efforts associated with new product and service development that address current and future FSI customer needs. In addition, he retains his role as general manager of FSI Allen, TX operations and POLARIS® Systems and Services. Walker began his FSI career in 1994 as manager of manufacturing operations and served FSI in a variety of capacities, including director of product management for the Microlithography Division and sales and account management functions. Before joining FSI, Walker had an eleven year manufacturing engineering and management career with Honeywell in their Military Avionics Division designing and developing processes for technologically advanced optical and electronics programs. Mr. Walker has a MS in Manufacturing Systems from the University of St.Thomas and a BS in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
