FSI International Establishes Global Distribution Network to Better Serve European Customers

Direct Capabilities and Enhanced Services Demonstrated to European Customers at SEMICON Europa

MINNEAPOLIS (April 1, 2003) – Increasing its responsiveness to customer requests and services in Europe, FSI International Inc. (Nasdaq: FSII) today announced that it has established a global distribution network through the successful transfer of its distribution operations from Metron Technology N.V. (Nasdaq: MTCH). On March 1, FSI assumed sales, service and applications support, and spare parts logistics responsibilities for its products in Europe and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The completion of this initiative will better align FSI’s technology roadmaps and product offerings with customer requirements. FSI’s new direct support channel should result in more productive collaborative efforts between the customer and FSI’s product management, application and support organizations around the world.

Our new direct support channel increases our responsiveness to customer requests and services throughout Europe and around the world,” said Stefano Avezzu, vice president and general manager of FSI’s European business.

FSI’s regional offices and key service representatives are responsible for providing technical information, scheduling required maintenance, dispatching service engineers, managing order entry for spares and serving as the focal point for customer issues at the local level. FSI has European offices in France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In addition, FSI will utilize DHL to serve as its global logistics partner, thereby ensuring that FSI is able to provide timely and effective stocking and delivery of its spare parts.
