FSI International’s 2006 Knowledge Services™ Seminar Series Offers Attendees Insight Into Surface Preparation Drivers for Advanced Technology Generations

Europe Middle East Area Sessions Focus on Industry Challenges, Opportunities

MINNEAPOLIS (September 20, 2006) — FSI International, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSII) announced today the return of its Knowledge Services™ Seminar Series in Grenoble, France and Dresden, Germany, as well as the addition of Tel Aviv, Israel. Through these sessions IC makers can gain practical knowledge while they listen, learn and network with industry peers about surface preparation productivity and performance drivers for advanced technologies. Since its introduction in 2004, FSI’s free, day-long seminars have attracted more than 1,000 IC manufacturing engineers and managers across Asia, Europe and the United States.

Our Knowledge Services Seminar Series provides an environment for our customers to explore topics that directly affect their businesses and to better align our technology with their future needs.”

A morning educational short course titled, “Fundamentals of Particle Adhesion and Removal,” will be taught by Dr. Stephen Beaudoin, professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University in Grenoble and Dresden. Dr. Jeffery Butterbaugh, FSI chief technologist will present the course in Tel Aviv.

Each afternoon seminar will include a keynote speech by an industry expert addressing future opportunities and challenges in the electronics and IC industries, followed by technical presentations on advanced surface preparation processes given by FSI customers and technologists. Topics will include: salicide formation and contact cleaning; ash-free, all-wet implanted resist stripping; damage-free particle removal; ultra-low defectivity in immersion cleaning; and highly selective and uniform wet etching, among other important subjects.

The FSI Europe Middle East Area Knowledge Services Seminar Series 2006 schedule includes:

  • Tuesday, October 17 in Grenoble, France
  • Thursday, October 19 in Dresden, Germany
  • Monday, October 23 in Tel Aviv, Israel
