FSI International’s 2007 Knowledge Services™ Seminar Series Allows Asia-based IC Makers to Learn More About the Latest Surface Conditioning Technologies and Industry Trends

Sessions to be Held in Key Cities Throughout Asia

MINNEAPOLIS (March 22, 2007) -- FSI International, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSII) announced today the return of its Knowledge Services™ Seminar Series (KSS) in Asia. Since its launch in 2004, over 1000 IC professionals worldwide have attended these free, day-long seminars. KSS offers IC makers an opportunity to learn more about a variety of issues and trends affecting the industry, including surface conditioning drivers for advanced technologies. The seminars will be held throughout the month of April in Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, Hsinchu and Tainan.

“As technology changes, IC manufacturers face new issues that directly influence their businesses. FSI is dedicated to helping expand its customers’ knowledge about challenges and best practices in our industry,” said Don Mitchell, FSI International chairman and CEO. “Our Knowledge Services Seminar Series fosters an environment where people can collaborate and learn from each other.”

The full day sessions in Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, and Hsinchu include a morning educational short course called “Fundamentals of Particle Adhesion and Removal.” This course will be taught in Seoul and Singapore by Dr. Srini Raghavan, professor of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Arizona; and in Shanghai and Hsinchu by Dr. Stephen P. Beaudoin, professor of Chemical Engineering, Purdue University. FSI also will present a high-level overview of their surface conditioning products in the morning session.

At each afternoon session, IC makers and FSI technologists will give keynote speeches and technical presentations regarding issues and trends shaping the IC industry. Representatives from MagnaChip Semiconductor, Samsung Electronics Co., Hynix Semiconductor Inc., Gartner Dataquest, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. and United Microelectronics Corp., will present keynote addresses and technical lectures at various locations. During the technical portion of the seminar, attendees will discuss global industry drivers, Ni and NiPt stripping, all wet resist stripping, damage-free particle removal, ultra-low defectivity and selective nitride etch.

This year, the Asia seminar series will be held in five cities. The schedule includes:

  • Wednesday, April 11 in Seoul
  • Friday, April 13 in Singapore
  • Tuesday, April 17 in Shanghai
  • Thursday, April 19 in Hsinchu
